Destino como meta se dice "DESTINATION", y no "Destiny" que se usa sólo como suerte, sino.
- You can´t fight destiny
- We arrived at our destination
10.-ODD/ODDS
Son palabras distintas, "Odd" significa extraño, raro..., mientras que "Odds" significa probabilidades, os dejo algunos ejemplos:
- It must be odd to live on the 43rd floor (Debe ser extraño vivir en el piso 43)
- I´ve got a whole drawer full of odd socks (Tengo un cajón lleno de calcetines sin pareja)
- 3, 5 and 7 are all odd numbers (3, 5 y 7 son números impares)
- She does the odd teaching job (odd job es un trabajo no permanente)
- What are the odds on him being re-elected? (Cuales son las probabilidades de que sea reelegido?)
- Against all the odds (Contra todo pronóstico)
- His version was at odds with the report. (Su versión era contraria al informe)
- It makes no odds to me (Me da igual)
- She paid over the odds for it (Ha pagado demasiado)
