EXPRESIONES

Hola a tod@s!!

En ésta entrada os dejo algunas expresiones que espero os sean útiles:

1.-BUMP INTO SOMEONE
Toparse con, encontrarse con

• Guess who I bumped into downtown today (Adivina con quién me he encontrado hoy en el centro)
• We bumped into Mary when we where in town last week (Nos encontramos a Mary cuando estabamos en la ciudad la semana pasada)

2.-GET YOUR HEAD AROUND
Hacerse a la idea

• I just can´t get my head around it (No me hago a la idea)
• I find it hard to get my mind around such complex issues (Me cuesta entender esas cuestiones tan complejas)

3.-FOR DAYS ON END
Por varios días

• When I like a song I will play it over and over for days on end
• We kept on traveling for days on end. (Estuvimos viajando durante días)

4.-KNOW FOR A FACT
Me consta, se seguro que

• If I was a kid I know for a fact that (Si fuese un niño, se seguro que..)
• I know for a fact that he is a muslim (Me consta que es musulmán)

5.-POURING RAIN
Llueve intensamente

• It´s pouring otside (Está lloviendo mucho fuera)
• It´s poring rain outside.

6.-SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT
Es como "Lo veía venir" u "Obviamente"

• I can´t fit in this dress. Sounds about right (No entro en el vestido. Se veía venir)

7.-A LIE IN
Descansar o dormir mucho y bien

• I gave myself a proper lie in this morning(La he echado larga)
• He let me have a massive lie in (Me ha dejado dormir mucho)

8.-THE THICK OF IT
Meollo, centro

• The thick of the forest (El centro del bosque, en mitad del bosque)

9.-ITS A PAIN
"Es un coñazo"

• It was a pain to get there (Fue un coñazo llegar allí)

10.-MINGLE WITH MY PEERS
Relacionarse con sus semejantes

• I just minge with my peers (Sólo me relaciono con mis semejantes)
